At Connected Hearts Play Therapy, we believe play is a child’s natural way of communicating, exploring, and healing. We offer a calm, supportive space where children feel safe to express their inner world without pressure, judgement, or “having to find the right words”.
Through play therapy, children can build emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, and connection. We also work alongside parents and caregivers, because lasting change happens when the adults around a child feel supported too.
Our vision is for children to feel deeply seen, safe, and understood, and for families to feel confident, supported, and empowered in their parenting journey.
We believe every child deserves a space where their feelings are welcome, their strengths are honoured, and their voice is respected.
Vision

Hi, I’m Katie, the founder of Connected Hearts Play Therapy.
I’m a qualified Play Therapist and registered teacher, with over 10 years of experience supporting children and families. I bring both professional experience and lived understanding into my work, including the perspective of a neurodivergent parent. I have a special interest in supporting neurodivergent children and their families.
I support children who are experiencing:
-
big feelings and emotional overwhelm
-
anxiety, separation worries, or school stress
-
low confidence or friendship challenges
-
grief, loss, or family change
-
neurodivergent needs (Autism, ADHD, sensory differences)
-
difficulties with behaviour, boundaries, or transitions
My approach is warm, neuroaffirming, and deeply relationship-focused. I believe healing happens through safe, attuned connection. Children do well when they feel safe, understood, and supported. I practise Humanistic Integrative Play Therapy, grounded in child-centred and filial therapy approaches.
I value collaboration. When you work with me, you are not doing this alone. I’ll partner with you to understand what’s underneath your child’s behaviour, support emotional development, and build practical strategies you can use at home and school.
